David Lacey is a leading researcher, writer and innovator in Cyber Security and IT Governance, with more than 25 years’ experience leading IT Security and Governance functions for organizations such as the Royal Dutch/Shell Group, Royal Mail Group and the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

David has pioneered many new ideas in cyber security. Amongst other things he drafted the original text behind the ISO 27000 family of standards, and achieved the world’s first and largest accredited certifications, from which he is often called “Father of ISO 27000”. David also founded the Jericho Forum, and developed the world’s first fraud detection system based on the human immune system.

David has written five books on Information Security Management and numerous white papers for vendors and research institutes. He has won several awards and is a member of the Infosecurity Europe Hall of Fame.  

David now has a portfolio career: consulting to a leading Investment Bank; advising vendors and advisory boards on emerging customer requirements; conducting keynote addresses and university lectures; and inventing new technologies. His latest invention is a 4-dimensionalist, metaphysical database that he believes will revolutionize the cyber security industry.
